Proud Corporate Members of AiBEC

At Booth Engineers, we hold ourselves to a high standard on every job, whether it’s a small residential inspection or a complex insurance claim report. That’s one of the reasons we’re proud to be a Corporate Member of AiBEC, the Association of Insurance Building and Engineering Consultants. Our membership reflects a commitment we already live by: giving insurers, property owners, and our clients across Brisbane and the Gold Coast honest, accurate, and well-supported reports they can rely on.

What Is AiBEC?

AiBEC is a dedicated industry association that supports engineers and building consultants working within the insurance sector. It was set up after several insurance bodies raised concerns about the lack of consistency and professionalism in reports prepared for insurance claims. Rather than wait for change to be imposed from outside, a group of experienced engineers and building consultants decided to build a better standard themselves.

Today, AiBEC brings together consultants, engineers, and allied industry supporters who all share one goal: lifting the quality and reliability of expert advice given to insurers and their customers.

What AiBEC Aims to Achieve

AiBEC’s objectives are focused on raising the bar for everyone working in insurance building and engineering consulting. In practice, this means the association works to:

  • Improve the consistency, accuracy, and professionalism of expert reports used in insurance claims
  • Provide members with ongoing training and professional development, so skills stay current
  • Set clear expectations for conduct through a formal code of professional practice
  • Help experts understand their role in identifying causation, rather than commenting on policy or claim outcomes
  • Build AiBEC members’ standing as trusted, preferred advisors on building and engineering insurance matters
  • Represent the interests of this sector within the broader insurance industry

Why Booth Engineers Is a Proud Corporate Member

We didn’t need AiBEC to tell us that clear, well-reasoned reports matter. Our team already prepares distressed structures and underpinning reports, dilapidation surveys, and other specialist assessments that regularly support insurance claims across South East Queensland. What AiBEC gives us is a way to formalise that commitment and connect with other consultants who take the same approach.

Being a Corporate Member means we:

  • Commit to AiBEC’s code of professional conduct in how we prepare and present our reports
  • Take part in ongoing training and continuing professional education (CPE) alongside other members
  • Stay up to date with changing expectations across the insurance and building industries
  • Share knowledge with, and learn from, other engineers and building consultants working in this space
  • Support the wider push for greater consistency and professionalism across our industry

What This Means for You

If you need a structural report for an insurance claim, whether it relates to storm damage, subsidence, cracking, or another form of distressed structure, our AiBEC membership is one more sign that you’re working with a team held to a recognised professional standard. Our inspections and specialist services are backed by qualified, RPEQ-certified engineers who understand exactly what insurers and their assessors are looking for in a report.
